Acceptable use policy and terms governing your use of Zoonex AI.
This policy applies to all users of Zoonex AI. By using the platform, you agree to these rules. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
Zoonex AI exists to give verified health professionals and researchers fast, evidence-based access to One Health literature. This policy protects the integrity of the platform, the safety of its users, and the responsible use of AI-synthesised medical and veterinary information.
This policy forms part of our Terms of Use and supplements our Privacy Policy.
This policy applies to all users of Zoonex AI, including:
The following uses are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination:
You must not submit false professional credentials to obtain verified access, impersonate another individual or institution, or use Zoonex AI outputs to falsely claim clinical authority you do not hold.
You must not use Zoonex AI to generate, facilitate, or support:
You must not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform; circumvent authentication or rate limiting; inject malicious content into queries; or interfere with other users' access.
You must not reproduce, republish, or commercially redistribute AI-synthesised responses or source excerpts in ways that infringe the copyright of the underlying sources. Responses are provided for your personal professional use and properly cited academic use only.
You must not submit automated queries in excess of your plan limits, use bots or scripts to circumvent rate limiting, or sell or resell query capacity to third parties.
Healthcare-specific note: Zoonex AI outputs are research support tools only. They must not be used as the sole or primary basis for clinical decisions, diagnoses, prescriptions, or regulatory submissions. All clinical outputs must be reviewed by a qualified practitioner before use.
Verified professional users agree that:
You are responsible for:
Account sharing — including sharing login credentials with colleagues — is a violation of this policy and will result in account suspension. Each person who requires access must register individually.
Access to the Zoonex AI API is available under a separate API agreement. If you have a valid API key:
Automated queries without an API agreement are prohibited. For API access, contact support@zoonexai.com.
We take a proportionate approach to enforcement. Consequences escalate based on severity and recurrence:
Written warning by email. No service interruption. Noted in your account record.
Temporary suspension (7–30 days). Appeal available within 30 days.
Permanent account termination. Relevant authorities notified where required by law.
We reserve the right to take immediate action — including termination without warning — for violations that pose a risk of serious harm, legal liability, or reputational damage to Zoonex AI or its users.
If you observe a violation of this policy — including misuse of AI outputs, account impersonation, or security concerns — please report it to us:
We investigate all reports and aim to respond within 2 business days for safety and security issues, and 5 business days for general AUP reports.
We may update this policy at any time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Zoonex AI synthesises evidence from 23 publicly available scientific databases. The following terms apply to third-party data:
Zoonex AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party data provider, including WHO, CDC, WOAH, NCBI, NIH, FAO, GBIF, Europe PMC, WikiVet, or any other organisation whose data is referenced on this platform. All outputs are independently synthesised by Zoonex AI.
Zoonex AI references veterinary clinical information from WikiVet, a free peer-reviewed veterinary encyclopedia maintained by veterinary professionals worldwide. WikiVet content is available under open access terms. Users seeking additional clinical guidelines are encouraged to consult WikiVet directly at en.wikivet.net. Zoonex AI is not affiliated with or endorsed by WikiVet.
Disease surveillance data from WHO, CDC, WOAH, FAO and other government or intergovernmental sources is used in accordance with each organisation's open data policies. References to these sources do not imply endorsement of Zoonex AI by any government agency or intergovernmental organisation.
Sequence analysis is performed using NCBI BLAST and the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA). Results are provided for research and surveillance purposes only and should be verified against the primary database before clinical or regulatory use.
Zoonex AI is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data provided by third-party sources. Users should verify critical information independently using the original source databases before making clinical, regulatory, or policy decisions.
Zoonex AI is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuously available access to the platform.
Zoonex AI may experience temporary unavailability due to scheduled maintenance, infrastructure provider outages (including but not limited to our hosting, database, or authentication providers), or unforeseen technical failures. We will make reasonable efforts to restore service promptly but accept no liability for losses arising from such interruptions.
Response times depend on multiple factors outside our control, including your internet connection, the responsiveness of third-party scientific databases queried in real time, and the processing load of the underlying AI model. Zoonex AI does not guarantee specific response times and is not liable for delays caused by network conditions, internet service provider issues, or third-party service latency.
Evidence retrieval requires your device to maintain a stable internet connection throughout the query process. On slow, unstable, or congested connections, evidence collection from our 23 live databases may take longer than usual, may return fewer sources than expected, or may time out entirely. Zoonex AI is not responsible for degraded performance or incomplete results arising from insufficient bandwidth, high latency, packet loss, or other conditions on the user's side of the connection.
Each query may search up to 23 independent third-party scientific and regulatory databases in parallel. The number, relevance, and completeness of sources returned may vary between queries and over time, depending on the availability, rate limits, indexing, and uptime of each underlying database. Zoonex AI does not control and is not responsible for the availability, completeness, or accuracy of third-party database search results.
Zoonex AI's evidence synthesis is powered by third-party large language model infrastructure (currently provided by Anthropic). This infrastructure is subject to its own technical limitations, including but not limited to maximum context/token limits, processing timeouts, model availability, rate limits, and occasional service disruptions on the part of the model provider. Zoonex AI is not responsible for synthesis failures, truncated responses, or service unavailability arising from limitations or outages of underlying third-party AI infrastructure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zoonex AI, its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from service interruptions, delayed or failed responses, incomplete evidence retrieval, or unavailability of any underlying third-party infrastructure, database, or AI model provider.
Zoonex AI's evidence synthesis, drug interaction analysis, and sequence analysis capabilities are powered by Claude, a large language model developed by Anthropic PBC. Zoonex AI LLC operates as an Anthropic API partner and is bound by Anthropic's usage policies, which govern what types of information the AI model can and cannot provide.
In accordance with Anthropic's usage policies and international biosecurity standards, the platform will not provide the following types of information, regardless of the stated purpose, professional credentials, or institutional affiliation of the requesting user:
These restrictions are enforced automatically by the underlying AI model and cannot be overridden by any user instruction, system prompt, or operator configuration. Zoonex AI LLC does not have the ability to grant exceptions to Anthropic's content policies.
These restrictions are not intended to impede legitimate scientific research. Standard scientific information about known pathogens — including epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, and One Health implications — is fully supported and accessible through the platform. Users requiring access to dual-use research of concern (DURC) information beyond what the platform can provide should work through their institutional biosafety committee (IBC), appropriate regulatory frameworks, and biosafety-cleared bioinformatics platforms specifically designed for that purpose.
Zoonex AI LLC is not liable for any loss, harm, or inconvenience arising from the AI model's refusal to provide information in accordance with Anthropic's usage policies. Users acknowledge that content restrictions are a condition of using this platform and agree not to attempt to circumvent, override, or manipulate these restrictions through prompt engineering, roleplay framing, or any other technique.
Zoonex AI is currently offered free of charge. No payment is currently collected from any user, and access is governed solely by the query limits described in Section 02 (10 queries/day for general users, 100 queries/day for verified professionals). This free access period is offered at our discretion and does not constitute a permanent commitment to free service.
Zoonex AI plans to introduce the following paid subscription tiers. Existing free-tier users will receive at least 30 days' advance notice by email before any charges begin. No user will be charged for usage that occurred during the free access period or prior to their explicit opt-in to a paid plan.
These prices are subject to change with reasonable advance notice as described in Section 13.5.
Any future billing applies only prospectively from the date a user actively selects and confirms a paid plan. We will never bill a user retroactively for usage during the free access period.
Once paid plans are introduced, the following will apply unless otherwise stated at checkout: subscriptions will be billed in advance on a recurring basis; payment will be processed by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe); users may cancel a recurring subscription at any time, with access continuing until the end of the current billing period; and refund eligibility will be specified at the time paid plans are introduced.
We reserve the right to change pricing for future billing periods with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of a paid plan after a pricing change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price. No user is guaranteed a specific price will remain unchanged indefinitely.
